What commission doesn't change

• Whether a product is listed. Every product must pass our public standard first.
• Which link comes first. We order buying options by packaging, the maker's practices and what's better for you, not by commission.
• Whether we recommend buying direct. When the maker is the better place to buy, we link there and say why, even when it pays us nothing.

What we don't do

• We never accept payment or sponsorship for a listing or for coverage.
• Makers sometimes send us products to look at. A free sample gets no special treatment: it must pass the same standard, we're under no obligation to list or write about it, and if we list it, its page says we got it free.
• We don't put affiliate links in our emails.
• We don't show retailer prices or star ratings, which change constantly and which we can't vouch for.
